The best Jobber alternative for a crew of 1 to 10 people is Own Your Tools if you want to stop paying monthly, Service Fusion if you need unlimited users on a monthly plan, and ServiceM8 if you run a lot of small jobs and want the lowest monthly bill. Housecall Pro is the closest like-for-like swap for Jobber, and it costs about the same. Workiz and ServiceTitan don't publish prices.
Below is what each one costs a 10-person crew, what happens to the bill when you hire, and the catch with each.
Disclosure: this guide is published by Own Your Tools, which is ranked first. Every price comes from a public pricing page, with dates in the sources.
Why shops leave Jobber
Jobber works. Most people who leave it aren't leaving because of the software. They're leaving because of the bill.
For a 10-person crew, Jobber's Grow plan is $349 a month on a one-year commitment, which comes to $20,940 over five years. Hire an eleventh person and the shop moves into the 15-user band, $80 a month more. Two-way texting and job costing sit on Grow, so dropping to a cheaper plan means losing them. Instant payouts cost an extra 1%. The full math is in our 2026 cost report, and the head-to-head is in Jobber vs Own Your Tools.

1. Own Your Tools: best if you'd rather own your software than rent it
How you pay: $490 once at the founding price, or $49 a month for 12 months and then it's yours. An annual platform fee for hosting and updates starts after the first year and is capped at $99.
Best for: owner-operators and crews of up to 10 who are tired of a bill that never ends and climbs every time they hire.
Own Your Tools is the only option on this list you can buy instead of rent. Ten seats come on one license with no per-user fee. Five years for a 10-person crew tops out at $886, against $20,940 on Jobber Grow.
It covers the money path from lead to paid: lead pipeline, proposals, scheduling, a job map that optimizes up to 10 stops, invoicing, a customer portal, inventory, job-site forms with signatures, expenses, a mileage log, and reports including a Schedule C tax summary. 20+ tools in one place. Customers pay by card straight into your own Stripe account, and Own Your Tools takes no cut. It keeps working without signal once a device has signed in and synced.
Your data stays yours. One click exports your business records, with photos and signatures in a zip. If the company ever shuts down, its Terms commit to keeping the app working on your devices, letting your data export, and releasing the source code within 90 days.
Moving over takes a file. Export your client list from Jobber and import it, up to 5,000 rows, with one-tap undo.
The catch: it doesn't text or email your customers automatically, it has no live QuickBooks sync, it installs on your phone like an app rather than from an app store, and support is email only, while your platform fee is current (we aim to reply within 1 business day). If those matter more to you than the bill, look further down the list.
2. ServiceM8: best for lots of small jobs
How you pay: monthly, by job volume. Starter is $29 for 50 new jobs a month, Growing is $79 for 150, and Premium is $149 for 500. Paid plans include unlimited users.
Best for: shops running a high number of short jobs, where headcount is high but job count is modest.
ServiceM8 has the lowest monthly bill on this list and doesn't charge for users. A crew doing 50 or fewer new jobs a month can stay on Starter at $29. One doing 150 to 500 a month pays $79 to $149.
The catch: the bill tracks your job count. A busy month means paying 20 cents per job past your plan's cap, or moving up a plan. Texts come in monthly allowances by plan. And it's still a monthly bill: five years at $79 to $149 is $4,740 to $8,940, several times what Own Your Tools costs over the same stretch.
3. Service Fusion: best for unlimited users on a monthly plan
How you pay: flat monthly rate with unlimited users. Starter is $245 a month ($208 billed annually), Plus is $382 ($325), and Pro is $627 ($533).
Best for: crews that expect to grow well past 10 and want headcount off the bill entirely.
Service Fusion is the other option here that doesn't punish hiring. Every plan includes unlimited users, and it integrates with QuickBooks.
The catch: $245 a month is $14,700 over five years. GPS fleet tracking is an extra charge on every plan, built-in calling and texting start on Plus, and its AI answering service is sold separately. For a crew of 10 or fewer, you're paying for unlimited seats you won't fill.
4. Housecall Pro: closest swap for Jobber
How you pay: monthly by plan. Basic is $79 for 1 user, Essentials is $189 for up to 5, and MAX is $329 for up to 8, plus $35 a month for each user after that.
Best for: shops that want what Jobber does, from a different company, with a polished mobile app.
In our read, Housecall Pro covers most of what Jobber does, including automated customer messaging and QuickBooks integration on Essentials and up.
The catch: it costs about the same as Jobber. A 10-person crew on MAX pays $399 a month, $23,940 over five years, and several add-ons, like vehicle GPS, cost extra.
5. Workiz: pricing behind a sales call
By September 2026, Workiz showed "Request pricing" on its Standard, Pro and Ultimate plans. It's popular with locksmiths, garage door and appliance shops. We can't tell you what it costs because Workiz won't say publicly. Get the number in writing, including what the next hire adds, before you start a trial.
6. ServiceTitan: built for a different size of shop
ServiceTitan is quote-only and aimed at larger operations, with implementation fees and multi-year contracts. A customer review on Capterra in July 2026 described being quoted roughly $22,000 to get out of a contract early. For a crew of 10 or fewer, it's more software and more commitment than the job needs. Read the cancellation terms first.
How to choose
If the monthly bill is the problem, every option here except Own Your Tools still sends one, every month, for as long as you use it. ServiceM8 and Service Fusion make it smaller and stop charging for headcount, but they don't make it go away.
If automated customer texts and QuickBooks sync are the things you can't give up, Housecall Pro or Service Fusion will feel most like Jobber.
If you want to own the software, keep every dollar your customers pay you, and hire up to 10 people without the bill going up, Own Your Tools is the one built for that. The $490 founding price is for the first 25 shops (then $700), and buying locks it in. There's a 30-day free trial with no card, and a 60-day money-back guarantee once you buy.
